This car is fully documented, with all books, service records, etc. from new, starting from the original window sticker (purchased new on 05/10/91 for $46,397.56 plus $1,605.20 in luxury tax!) to the present, documenting every service, every oil change, etc. I've included a summary of all of the service records below. It currently has 112,000 miles on it.
As most know, the S2 was the end of the 944 line. With 208 hp from its 3.0 twin cam engine, it came close to the original 944 Turbo's 217 hp, but without the heat and complications of the Turbo. It also came with the Turbo's bodywork (front bumper and rear underspoiler) and brakes. People's opinions vary, but when I went 944 shopping the Turbo was a non-starter for me. They are cool cars, but a 30 year old turbo'd car is not for me.
This 944S2 was purchased new in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and has been either there or in California for its entire life. As such, there is absolutely no rust on the car.
I've owned the car since 2013. It is in remarkable condition. Almost all of the pictures below were taken by me on May 10, 2016, and accurately reflect the condition of the car. The pictures are completely untouched, unfiltered, etc. I took them with my old Nikon, uploaded them and posted them here with no alterations.
The car is stock and unmodified, with the exception of:
(1) The Porsche factory Cup II wheels (7.5 x 17 front and 9 x 17 rear) (the stock original wheels come with the car too, there's a few pictures at the end of the pictures below that show it wearing the stock wheels), and
(2) an aftermarket Alpine head unit (the original Blaupunkt head unit and graphic equalizer come with the car too). I normally would reinstall the original stereo, but this Alpine is fairly unobstrusive and sounds really, really good! It's the best sounding stereo I've ever owned.
But if the new owner wished, he or she could put the original wheels back on, reinstall the original stereo and the car would be in completely stock configuration again, as it left the showroom floor.
My understanding of the Cup II wheels is they are relatively uncommon, being 7.5 inches wide in the front, rather than 7.0, and the "proper" wheels for an S2. But I'm a Fuchs guy, I don't know much about Porsche wheels after 1989.
This car drives as well as it looks. The 3.0 twin cam 208 hp engine is remarkably smooth, it shift well, and drives as it should. The heating and AC system are fully functional, and the AC blows ice cold, even on the hottest (+100 degree) day. The AC rivals a modern car, it's really cold. There are no mechanical issues.
Cosmetically, the car is in stunning condition. The pictures tell the story. Inside and out, top to bottom, it could easily pass for a 1 year old car. How the light colored interior and carpets (including the original floor mats) have stayed so spotlessly and impossibly clean for 25 years is remarkable. It still even has the "new car smell" somehow. I've taken it to a few So. Cal. Cars and Coffees over the years and people are always blown away by how clean and new the car looks.
When I bought the car I was a little uncertain about the Classic Grey interior. I have, however, grown to love it and would not trade it for black or tan. It is unique and works well.
Why am I selling? I currently have six vehicles, which is more than one too many. Even if I move this car up to fourth or fifth on the depth chart, I still don't have the time to drive it enough. I'm not getting any younger and hope to pare it down to 3 cars eventually.
This also will likely be my last "showroom condition" old car. I worry when I drive it or park it, I don't like when it gets dusty or dirty, it kind of drives me nuts so I tend to leave it in the garage. I've come to appreciate "nice driver's condition" cars that have a few warts and aren't so perfect. This S2 is way, way beyond a "driver's condition" car.
Clean, clear California title in my name. Car passes California smog every time, no problem. I'm in Orange County, California.

Equipped with the split folding rear seat option.
Heating and AC function perfectly. AC blows ice cold, even in 100 degree weather.
Electric sunroof functions correctly.
Car comes with its original, stock wheels, along with the Porsche factory Cup II wheels that are currently on the car (7.5 x 17 front with 225 and 9.0 x 17 rears)
The factory spare tire, air pump, tool kit, etc. are all present and unused.
Below are some pictures of the car wearing the stock wheels, which are included.
Original build sheet.
A lot of records! I only spread out about half of them.
I went through and summarized the service records. There's a lot of them, I may have missed a few.
By way of background, I am a 25 year PCA member and minor collector. I've had a few fun cars over the years, here's some of them. With somewhat limited space and time, I only buy the best examples I can find. I'm happy to leave the marginal or average stuff to others.
For example, I bought the Mondial from Paul Harvey right before he passed away, he was the original owner and it had 5,000 miles on it. The black Carrera cab was a factory M491 Turbolook with 30,000 miles, perfect. This 944S2 is no exception to my rule, it is IMO a "Top 1%" car.
Of the cars below that I've sold, almost all were to buyers "sight unseen," and with no PPI done (I offered but they decided not to). Everyone who has bought one of my cars over the past 25 years has told me the car turned out to be in better condition than they expected.
Of course, I am happy to make the S2 available for inspection. If you are in the Southern California/Orange County area, or have a shop in the area, I can make the car available, no problem.
